We have limited availability of this 1945 color print of an extraordinary map created by John Vassos, a renowned American industrial designer and artist who helped define the shape of radio, television, broadcasting equipment, and computers for the RCA for almost four decades. One of the original sketches for this in housed in the Archives of American Art at the Smithsonian Institution.

This is a Birds-eye-view map of the Silvermine Art Colony, New Canaan, Ct. The nearest to New York City of the larger art colonies, it lies within the township boundaries of Norwalk, New Canaan, and Wilton…The exact boundaries of Silvermine have never been defined but this map approximates what is generally accepted as Silvermine with some of its studios and houses.
