I moved to Norwalk in 2014 and to Silvermine in 2019. I still work in the city full time managing an appraisal and art advisory firm, but the best part of every day is driving back down my dark gravel road to seemingly the middle of nowhere right here in Norwalk, and being greeted by my two colorful canine companions, Edie – a 9 yr old chihuahua/mini dachshund I rescued when she was 1 and Sheldon, a 16 yr old chihuahua rescued when he was 9. Whatever happened during the day so easily melts away and gets put into perspective.
Earlier in 2025, I started an arts organization called The Arts at Bissell’s End, to produce exceptional theatrical, musical, and visually artistic projects with the aim of bringing the community together, showcasing wonderful talents of all kinds, and ultimately to raise money as scholarships for young artists going into university and conservatory programs, and eventually to also fund larger scale creative projects with established musicians and artists.
How long have you lived in Silvermine?
6 Years
What three adjectives do you feel best describe Silvermine?
Calm, picturesque, timeless
What part does the Silvermine Community Association play in your overall sense of “being a Silverminer?”
A big part. I joined the board in 2023 and have had a wonderful time getting involved with all the events that we do, helping to create new events and paths to community. And especially, I love learning new things all the time about the very special history of Silvermine. I love feeling anchored in a rich artistic and natural world history.
What is/are your favorite SCA event/s?
- Fall/Spring Socials
- Silvermine Mixers at local spots
- I love being on the board and coming up with new ideas to try as events and happenings for SCA. I especially loved the Jazz Night we sponsored in February 2025 at the Silvermine Arts Center.
What future events or activities would you like to see the SCA offer?
I would love to see an organized walk of Christmas decorations at different homes throughout Silvermine. I would love to share my Christmas decorating through a tour and would absolutely love to see what others are doing!
